In this class, students will create an adorable scene filled with bright, personality-packed birds perched on winding branches—each one unique, just like a real family.

We’ll begin by lightly sketching our composition with pencil, learning how to build simple bird shapes and arrange them playfully along the branches. Then, we’ll refine our drawings using Micron pens, adding charming details like tiny feathers, patterns, and expressive faces that make each bird come alive.

Once our line work is complete, we’ll dive into watercolor techniques, exploring soft washes, blending, and layering to create vibrant colors and a dreamy sky background. Students will also learn how to add leaves and natural elements to tie the whole “family tree” together.
